Hello Lea,

My surname is ZHENG (鄭) in Mandarin.

It was the British and illiterate Chinese who messed up the Chinese
names in Malaya and Singapore.

I think the best way to know this mess is to read my book:

http://yn.chung.id.au/IMG_0797-JPG

The book is about my family and all the Malayans and Singaporeans lived through the two wars (1) The Japanese Occupation - 3 years and eight months and the war between the British Colonial Authories against the Malayan Communists Party - 12 years. I was ten years old when it started.
When it was finished in 1960 I was 21 years old.

You can obtain a copy of my book from my publisher in New York City in USA. My publisher address is

"Julie Boon" <julie.wenyue@gmail.com>,

See you
