 ‘ì, Zhuo, Cheuk, Cheok, Toh

CYN,

Any information about my clan?

Seems a very uncommon surname. Seems to be more Toh than Cheok in Malaysia/Singapore. In HK it is Cheuk and they are Hakkas.

My main query is this. How can a surname be Hokkien as well as Hakka? Not that it matters linguistically as I speak both. However both have quite distinctive traditions and customs.
