217. 洛陽道 The streets in Luoyang
大道直如髮,---Da4 dao4(*1A) zhi2 ru2 fa4,
春日佳氣多;---Chun ri4(*2B) jia qi4 duo;
五陵貴公子,---Wuling(*3C) gui4 gong zi3,
雙雙鳴玉珂.---Shuang shuang ming2 yu4 ke.

(1) 洛陽真是繁華地方, 這裏平坦的大路, 和那頭髮一樣的長直,
The city of Luoyang is a bustling place with flat and straight boulevards,
(2) 到了春天時候, 好的氣象更多了.
When springtime comes there will be a new and dynamic atmosphere;
(3) 你看五陵地方的貴公子, 一對對騎著馬兒跑來,
You can see the noble young men from Wuling riding horses in pairs to the
city,
(4) 祇聽那佩玉鳴鑾的聲音, 便可想見他的熱鬧了.
By listening to the sound from the bells tied to the horses will tell you
that Luoyang is a flourishing city.
Notes:
(*1A) 大道 = 就是寬闊的大陸。
(*2B) 佳氣 = 是說天氣很好。
(*3C) 五陵 (Wuling) = It refers to the resting place of the Five Emperors
of the Han Dynasty (202BC to 220AD) or Five Mausoleums: namely:
(A) 長陵 (Changling 高祖, 劉邦 202BC to 195BC);
(B) 安陵 (Anling 惠帝, 劉盈 194BC to 188BC);
(C) 陽陵 (Yangling 景帝, 劉啟 156BC to 141BC);
(D) 茂陵 (Moaling 漢武帝, 劉徹 140BC to 87BC);
(E) 平陵 (Pingling 漢昭帝, 劉弗陵 86BC to 74BC)
(*4D) 玉珂 = 是馬上的飾物能夠發聲。
