North and South Dynasties (1)
This period of Chinese history is rather hard to follow. I, now, divide it into chronological summary of each the dynasties. If you are interested in Chinese
history please download it for future reference.
After the collapse of the Jin Dynasty (®Ê´Â 265AD to 420AD)
China entered the period of the North and South Dynasties («n¥_´Â)
The Han Chinese (º~±Ú) established the dynasties in the south were known as
"The South Dynasties («n´Â 420AD to 589AD)" by historians.
South Dynasties::
(1) Song (§º 420AD to 479AD).
The founder of this dynasty was Liu Yu (¼B¸Î). The capital was at Jian Kang
(«Ø±d present day Nanjing «n¨Ê in Jiangsu province ¦¿Ä¬¬Ù). The dynasty had been ruled by eight rulers and their surname was Liu (¼B). The eight rulers were:
(1) Wu Emperor Liu Yu (ªZ«Ò¼B¸Î 420 to 422).
(2) Shao Emperor Liu Yifu (¤Ö«Ò¼B¸q²Å 423 to 424).
(3) Wen Emperor Liu Yilong (¤å«Ò¼B¸q¶© 424 to 453)
(4) Xiao Wu Emperor Liu Jun (§µªZ«Ò¼BÂ@ 454 to 464).
(5) The former abolished Emperor Liu Ziye («e¼o«Ò¼B¤l·~ 465)
(6) Ming Emperor Liu Yu (©ú«Ò¼BÑ{ 465 to 472)
(7) The later abolished Emperor Liu Yu (Later became Cang Wu King)
===«á¼o«Ò¼B¬R 473 to 477(»a±ï¤ý).
(8) Shun Emperor Liu Zhun (¶¶«Ò¼B·Ç 477 to 479)
The Song was destroyed by Qi (»ô) in 479

(2) Qi (»ô 479AD to 502AD).
The founder of this dynasty was Xiao Daocheng (¿½¹D¦¨). The capital was at the same place as that of the Song, Jian Kang. There were seven rulers during the and their surname was Xiao (¿½). The seven rulers wre:
(1) Gao Zu Emperor Xiao Daocheng (°ª¯ª¿½¹D¦¨ 479 to 482)
(2) Wu Emperor Xiao Ze (ªZ«Ò¿½ðó 483 to 493)
(3) The abolished Emperor Yu (¼o«Ò¿½Æ{ 494)
Later King Lin Xiao Zhaoye (ªL¤ý¿½¬L·~)
(4) The abolished Emperor (¼o«Ò®ü 494)
Later Kin Ling Xiao Zhaowen (³®¤ý¿½¬L¤å)
(5) Ming Emperor (©ú«Ò¿½Æ} 494 to 498)
(6) The abolished Emperor (¼o«Ò 499 to 501)
Later Duke Dong Hun Xiao Bao Juan (ªF©ü«J¿½Ä_¨÷)
(7) He Emperor Xiao Baorong (©M«Ò¿½Ä_¿Ä 501 to 502)
The Qi was destroyed by Liang (±ç) in 502.

(3) Liang (±ç 502AD to 557AD),
including Later Liang («á±ç 555 to 587).
This dynasty was founded by Xiao Yan (¿½l). The capital was at the same
place as that of the aboves, Jian Kang. There were seven rulers and their surname was Xiao (¿½). The seven rulers were:
Liang (±ç)
(1) Wu Emperor Xiao Yan (±çªZ«Ò¿½l 502 to 549)
(2) Jian Wen Emperor Xiao Gang (²¤å«Ò¿½ºõ 550 to 551)
(3) Yuan Emperor Xiao Yi (¤¸«Ò¿½Ã¶ 552 to 555)
(4) Jing Emperor Xiao Fangzhi (·q«Ò¿½¤è´¼ 555 to 557)
Hou Liang («á±ç)
(5) Xuan Emperor Xiao Cha («Å«Ò¿½¹î 555 to 562)
(6) Ming Emperor Xiao Kui (©ú«Ò¿½÷J 563 to 585)
(7) Duke Ju Xiao Cong (²÷¤½¿½Úz 586 to 587)
The Hou Liang was subjugated by Chen (³¯)

(4) Chen (³¯ 557AD to 589AD).
The founder of this dynasty was Chen Baxian (³¯ÅQ¥ý). The capital was at the same place as that of the aboves, Jian Kang. There were five rulers and their surname was Chen (³¯). The five rulers were:
(1) Wu Emperor Chen Baxian (ªZ«Ò³¯ÅQ¥ý 557 to 559)
(2) Wen Emperor Chen Qian (¤å«Ò³¯ãÈ 560 to 566)
(3) The abolished Emperor Chen Bozong (¼o«Ò³¯§B©v 567 to 568)
Later became King of Lin Hai (Á{®ü¤ý).
(4) Xuan Emperor Chen Xu («Å«Ò³¯¹z 569 to 582)
(5) Later Ruler Chen Shubao («á¥D³¯¨ûÄ_ 583 to 589)
The Chen was destroyed by Sui (¶¦)
