One should also be happy and health and live forever.

Should....

It means little.

Can you do it?

Can anyone do it? Some claimed that they had no ego but turned out to be depraved liars. Others, suffer some dreadful diseases and truly forget who they are.

The rest of us, in between people, should content with our lot. Love and treasure what we have - that is the central tenet of Taoism.

Maybe you think you need to strive higher and deeper because you think you are better than "ordinary people" ? That you think you are smarter and more spiritually and intellectually endowed? Then maybe the one who needs to work on the ego is you.
