沒蕃(*1A) 故人 An old friend lost in Fan
前年戍月支,---Qian2 nian2 shu4 Yuezhi(*2B),
城下沒全師;---Cheng2 xia4 mei2(*3C) quan2 shi;
蕃漢斷消息,---Fan Han(*4D) duan4 xiao xi,
死生長別離.---Si3 sheng chang2 bie2 li2.
無人收廢帳,---Wu2 ren2 shou fei4 zhang4(*5E),
歸馬識殘旗.---Gui ma3 shi2 can2 qi2.
欲祭疑君在,---Yu4 ji4 yi2 jun zai4,
天涯哭此時.---Tian ya2 ku ci3 shi2.

The explanations in plain Chinese and English
(1) 前年, 你隨著軍隊遠到邊塞, 防守吐蕃的入侵.
The year before last year you were sent to lead an army to defend the country
of Yuezhi,
(2) 不幸, 在城下一戰, 全軍覆沒.
Unfortunately, in a battle in the city wall, your whole army were destroyed
by the enemies.
(3) 我們遠隔蕃漢兩地, 一直沒有你的消息.
The land between the Fan and Han is cut off and I have heard nothing from
you.
(4) 或許你已死了, 也可能還活著吧! 但今後, 我們將永遠別離了.
You may be dead or still alive, but from now on we are separated forever.
(5) 我在想, 戰後的景況一定非常淒涼, 沒有人去收拾那敗壞的營帳,
The situation must be very dreary after the battle and no one there to pack
up your abandoned camps.
(6) 只有幾匹倖從戰場生還的馬兒, 還認得那殘破的旌旗.
Only a few horses escaped death and they still recognized the battle flags.
(7) 我想設奠祭悼你, 但又疑想你可能還活著,
I am preparing to hold a memorial ceremony for you, but I become suspicious
that you might be still alive.
(8) 這時候, 遙望天涯, 我不覺痛哭失聲啊!
At this time, I look into the distance and cry.!
Notes:
(*1A) 沒蕃 = 蕃指吐蕃
In this case 番 (Fan means the present day province of Xizang 西藏省).
沒﹐有淪陷之意﹐可能是死亡﹐也可能被拘留。
(*2B) 月支
一作月氏。 其族先居甘肅西境﹐漢時為匈奴所破﹐部分西遷阿每河﹐臣服於大夏者﹐
稱為大月氏﹐其餘留居故地者﹐稱為小月氏。
(*3C) 沒 = 覆沒。
(*4D) 蕃漢 = 蕃稱西蕃﹐漢稱漢族。
(*5E) 廢帳 = 廢棄的篷帳。
