Well done SL.

Every proponent of a new idea will be dismissed by those with established views. You have opened a window for more researchers to explore about the Ming mariners.

Lately, the tsunami in Japan has unloaded a lot of flotsum to the coasts of America. It can mean that many cultures in the Americas, esp Central America, may have Chinese contact. It is postulated that the ancestors of the Eskimos, Red Indians, Mayans and Central American nationalities came from Asia through the Bering Straits.

The Mayan and Shang ancient artefacts are so similar in appearance. When I was in Sanxingdui museum in Chengdu, I thought I was in a Mexico Museum. Even the origin of the Han people is under revision that it may be multicentric since Sanxingdui is also a site similar to the Shang culture of the Central Plain. Old theories need to be revised in the face of new findings.

Darwin, after a hundred years, was still laughed at by some. And still some want to take him out of textbooks. So, truth seekers have to be lonely, for quite a while.

My second book will be more shocking.

There are all kinds of misquotes on the Internet. I can only be responsible for what I write and nothing on what others quote. Please do not associate me with any other theory even they list my name in their posts. Most of them are incorrect.

Congratulations Dr. Lee.

It is interesting to note that the Ming Chinese mapped the world in 1602 and the modern Chinese has just mapped the moon in 2010. I wonder when will the Chinese map Mars and other planets.

The following is an introduction of the book by the publisher. You are welcome to quote.

1.明代鄭和下西洋止於東非洲;
2.哥倫布發現美洲新大陸;

Dr. Lee's book is hard to purchase outside of China.

The 3 bookstores given are all in Taiwan, and do not serve buyers
in the U.S. (or other countries). I have tried every way using any
credit cards and paypal without success. After registration, I was
told that they do not sell to customers outside of Taiwan.

Tin Kay , it is interesting enough , over these past few years, since our shared engagement with Gavin Menzies -- I meant, me and SL and many others -- my research had taken a different turn from Zhenghe to the much more ancient of Shan Hai Jing -- where it had taken me deep into the Amazons in the Rio Negro regions, to the upper Solimoes near Peru, to have investigated the ceramics collected by an eccentric American archeologist Anna Roosevelt, supposed to be Ted Roosevelt's grand or great grand daughters .. In so many words -- the Northern part of Brazil, just to prove one stone found in and amongst the "Amazon Women " a she female tribe and this relic bearing the characters of jade -- from this one hypothesis, not jade from Asia, but to have established the trade and exchange, very possible between the inter-Americans from Mezo America 's Mayan, and jade , yes, jadeite from Guatemala -- where this had taken me to the Yucatan Peninsula, to Merida, to Campeche region -- as more and more jade of green and blue are being found -- I guess in part, by my stone interest, I got off track -- here and there, and enjoying my own sense of wonderment -- However, the most coincidence of a shared myth in the midst of the Amazon with two Chinese researchers in Beijing had triggered me of this interest ..

As SL knows, I am in no hurry -- even from the research of history, be that Zhenghe or Menzies, and now SL -- in what I have deviated of my research by the same research mechanism and mindset -- I have discovered in what I called the Opium Holocaust -- in what I have discovered from the various documents -- it became far more imminent of this most abusive and offensive mass murder of the Chinese -- had taken me into another drift and venture where most of you had seen my post in here .. :)

That is not to say, in this sense of wonderment, in the full use of languages and extraction of data from these many universities, from the Vatican, Milan, Portugal, Spain and Portuguese colonies or islands of Azores, Madeira to the universities in the Americas --- I continue to assemble data and more data ---- including the most amazing data coming from the former CIA, or then, naval intelligence by Henriette Mertz here in Chicago -- and her match of the maps and routes of SHJ to almost half of the US in the Western region -- you all can read her book " A pale Pink.." and see more of her evidence to have tracked the routes of SHJ from British Colombia to the upper northern region of Mexico with amazing similar topography and terrain ..

In all the bits and pieces, and to continue to search and to collect data of early Chinese voyagers -- as of now, to compliment what SL is doing, data from Nanjing, data from Portuguese had stated all that in 1501. a year after Gabral discovery of Brazil -- eye witnesses had seen as well as documented the Chinese voyagers were in Brazil - and in what so ever way, if and when, interior maps of Latin America had already been documented and all -- there goes much more "threads" that we can try to pull and hypothesized -- and Matteo Ricci's map indeed was almost many years after -- thus, the data to confirm what SL is stating can only be richer confirmation when these evidence are found and reviewed .. Much more in the archive of the personal library in the Vatican -- As of now, I am strive to retrieve one of the most comprehensive herbal documents from China, old document now in the hands of the Catholics in Vatican -- and I am doing my best to pry or to use future pressure to got this book reviewed, republished, re-printed -- and may not even need to have such book return to China like many other Chinese items that have been looted out of the Summer Palace by those two Opium Wars as I called it -- the Opium Holocaust and thievery ..

Yes, this is the time and period to move forward with more new discovery of old China -- either in China or in the Americas - or Africa ..:)

Again, I am working thus far with my own hypothesis -- these data are located in both Lisbon, Oporto and also in Nanjing-- suggesting that they have witnessed Chinese ships in the coast of Brazil as early as 1501. One year after Brazil was found by the accident made by Gabral -- One hundred years of data can be extremely rich and ample to have the Chinese making up more maps --

(Bahama Islands)

This is an interesting take -- Baja Mares .. as in that time, the Spanish use of the ocean or Mares were in the she, or female gender -- so plural is "Las Mares" ..

I have had my interesting discussion with my Roman Catholic colleagues and clergy -- In that time period , yes, the ocean or sea was used in the feminine gender --Las Mares

Due to the many ships got washed ashore by this shallow ocean -- thus, they became LAS BAJAS MARES .. The lower ocean ... or sea ..

But today, the sea is to be called El Mar . as in that song " El Mar, espejo de mi corazon ....." in Perfedia ..

This is the linguistic take of the time and period of the wording in different genders :)

(Florida, Tierra de las Flores)

Florida -- is the past participle of the word Flores, yes meaning flowers ..

Florida is "Flowered" .....

Tierra de las flores -- meaning, the land of the flowers .. :)

(Terra Corterealis)

Noble courts -- ?

Cortes Reales
Cortes Realis ..

Then the Spanish and Portuguese has much more mixed used with much closer proximity to one and the other - In fact, the old Portuguese in transition would have been the language of Galicia or Gallego -- :)

In Portuguese today -- It will be Cortes Reais .in "Plural" or Corte Real in singular ...

Very interesting .. to decipher names --

As I am doing what I can here, but the native languages like Tupi Guarani of South America will be very interesting --

Thus far from the area north of Venezuela -- their different Arawak trunk of the linguistic group -- where I have yet tried to articulate more of their meanings - but we will get there ..

Paul, your linguistic advantage of Portuguese/Spanish will help to dig out more "surprises". It is sad that so many Chinese archived records were burnt or stolen during the wilful destruction at YuanMingYuan, and again at the mayhem by the Eight Nations Army rape of Beijing. The eminent French scolar and writer condemned the French government of the day for participating in the destruction of YuanMkngYuan. This bastardy runs deep in the minds of all Chinese, and even Western Sinophils.

Missed out the name of Emile Zola, who wrote to the French newspaper complaining that the West are enraptured with Greek and Roman art and culture but totally ignorant of the Chinese. The burning of YuanMingYuan was criminal and a loss to humanity. How would the English feel if another country burn down the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and Westminster. Many Westerners are devoid of the sensitivity of others. When the stupid
Bush attacked Baghdad, the Museum was left to the robbers, despite many early petitions from scholars to the US government to safeguard the Museum artifacts. Many Assyrian and Sumerian relics are now hidden in the Western private collections.

yes, thus the Chinese Opium Holocaust Museum will have to be created , first online electronically.. Then physically on the Bund area in Shanghai.. With the full recording of these rape of China.. These western Barbarians as well as Chinese will not remember the joint historical shame. Nor the financial shams of the white collar crimes....This has to be done as it will be done and soon.
