The coming collapse of China by Gordon Chang and Liang 1a
Author: observer
Date:   04-10-12 05:13

Gordon Chnag has just modified his prediction that China would collape by 2012, not 2011. see http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2011/12/29/the_coming_collapse_of_china_2012_edition?page=0,1

I remember that Liang1a also predicted at the end of 2009 that China would collapse in two years' time i.e by the end of last year. Is he also going to change his prediction ?

Gordon Chang deserves our own Cantonese Hum Gar Shovel award ..

Next I will also be giving the same award to those clowns in Noray -- The Nobel Hum Gar Shovlers who had managed to use that prize to bastardising China on account of their own ignorance about China .. Anyone let me know if Norway had sent troops for the Opium Wars ?

Paul, As far as I know, Norway did not send troops for the Opium wars. The countries involved were seven out of the present G8 countries i.e Britain, France, US, Japan, Germany, Italy, Russia plus the Austria Hungarian Empire which does not exist any more. It is interesting to note that World War II was essentially an implosion amongst evil imperialistic countries without which it is highly unlikely that erstwhile colonial or semi-colonial countries would have risen to the fore in the present century.

The reason I have raised this issue -where two nations had not sent troops into China for the joint Jew rape of China, by way of opium -- and I guess Sweden was one of them -- as things stands now, Norway is almost a total puppet link to the US and as of late, in what I have heard - Norway deliberately wanted to antagonize China by their useless awards .. that is why is part of my rage -- and from they think of such a pristine and orderly nation - they ate crow with the subprime fiasco and ordeal -- and where they seem to be the role model democracy but not till this mass murder of a Christian racist lunatic started to gun down the children -- I think, there are enough whacko in those cold nations :) No one can be spared ..

=============================

I don't need to change my prediction. China has collapsed so far as its exports is concerned. The effort of the CCP to prop up the Chinese economy by subsidizing the housing industry had created a bubble the bursting of which was prevented by the forceful suppression of the prices by instituting price control as I recommended. China's growth is now down to 7.5% which allowing for inflation of 3.5% to 5% knocks the real growth down to 4% to 2.5%. For a developing country with very backward technological and productivity level this is a collapse.

The fact that Chinese economy has not totally collapsed is due to the small growth of domestic development also as I recommended. I had specifically recommended that China should reduce exports and increase urbanization. Now exports has collapsed while urbanization is propping up Chinese economy.

Given the above, I have nothing to change. The fact that idiots at this forum mock me does not change the sad state of the Chinese economy and the sad state of China's national development overall. And fools at this forum are more fools for mocking me who is the only one who knows what is happening to China. The bunch of you are just sycophants of the CCP who support its sell out of China. As much as you rant against Gordon Chang you both support the same CCP policies of kowtowing to America. So while you rant against Gordon Chang you are in fact condemning your own self. You morons!!!!!!!!

Liang2a,

I am really speechless that you have the temerity to claim that you are the "only one who knows what is happening in China". But talk is cheap. Please provide me with some figures showing that China's exports have collapsed in 2011 as compared to 2009 when you made the prediction.

I note with amusement that you are calling me names. I am delighted because I know I have won and you have lost !!

On my part I would like fellow forumites to look at the following link regarding US/China trade figures over the past few years and make their judgement regarding your remarks.

The biggest traitors in China are those who think China can only advance by selling cheap underwears to Americans.

Chinese must not only work hard but work productively. Do you know what that means? I have every condifende in the intelligence and industriousness of the Chinese people. But relying on selling cheap exports to foreigners such as the Americans and the Japanese will ultimately keep the Chinese people poor. And idiots such as Observers are ultimately the best allies of Gordon Chang in the selling out of China.

Don't think you are patriotic just because you lambast America. The biggest traitors are those who brainwash Chinese people into thinking they are nothing unless they can sell their labor cheaply to the foreigners. In the end, you people are nothing but sycophants.

With globalisation it is inevitable that economic downturn in the major Western countries would have an impact on China's growth rate. Despite this, Wen Jiabao still expects the growth this year to slow from 9.4% last year to 7.5% this year. Since when is slower growth a couple of percentage points regarded as a collapse ?

Joseph Lin, Chief Economist of the World Bank and other prominent Chinese economists such as Fan Gang, still expect the long term trend of the Chinese economy to be positive. If China could grow on average about 7% p.a., her economy would double in ten years. The erstwhile higher growth rate of 10% p.a. is obviously unsustainable as that was achieved on a much lower base.

The link you quoted mentioned that China's foreign trade showed a deficit of 30 odd billion dollars in Feburary, but do you know that the March figures show that there was a small surplus ? In any event, China is now not aiming at a large surplus.

By the way, do you know that India's economy is not export-oriented and yet it is also slowing down at a rate faster than China ?

All and all, China can still sustain whatsoever of "economic fragility " and China ought to go directly into direct trade, currency direct exchange to suffer less of the blow in dollar -- I am sure that with all the existing weak scenario -- even in the potential economic catastrophe, China can out pace all others .

Well said ---Observer , there are those who loves to murky their own vision just so they can brag about their own prediction of any global event -- but the facts and the evidence of the existing and on going global economic scenario tells us all otherwise -- Yes, China might have "milked" out the extra of the West - and again, as in History, China had no slaves in the silk or the tea trade -- even with the invasive Jew banking supported of the Opium Holocaust war, in the use of the dumb white clowns for mercenaries till today -- China had stood strong with over two hundred years of degradation and humiliation -- But in the long history in how China had sustained the Mongols, the absorption of the Manchus and now these barbarians with body odors will be faced up again by the tenacity of the Chinese, but much more -- the culture and the civilization of China never needed to be boosted or promotion or much less propaganda like the West -- and the Western fiasco manipulated by none other, but one Jew -- Edward Barnays who fanned off the hatred to communism, fabricated false fear to the paranoia created by the fabrication of Russian into Latin America -- had fueled the mental manipulation of the dumb middle class of America -- fear, fear, fear , commies, Russians ,. and now Muslims -- just so the war industry and its major partner, the blood sucking bankers with usury to rape the nation . They will be exposed as well. The American propaganda game is over --This is the next reality check --

Obama, for example, stated that to get out of the present economic crisis, the US must double its exports within the next few years. Is he also a screwball moron ?

Previously I asked you to substantiate that China's exports in 2011 had collapsed in comparison with 2009. You still have not responded. Instead you are now throwing out new figures of 50 trillion and 100 trillion out of the blue. Where did you get those astronomical figures from ?

Liang,

I am trying my very best to stay neutral. But you getting out of kilter!

But I have to declare my hand as someone with an economics, financial and business.

[1] I agree we have to progressively move from cheap labour input products to high value added high tech, low cheap labour input products but we have to retain and maintain the same export markets as we grow and progress from low value to high value exports. You do not export in a 'vacuum'! You have infrastructure logistics, relationships and agencies and branding and network and distribution. Like a pendulum, like yin and yang you cannot have exports without imports and vice-versa. Further tangible exports and imports are smaller than the intangibles of capital and currency and investment flows. What you are harping about is only 25% of the total picture. Then we have the political and global standing of China as a world leader! That goodwill and status is nothing if we do not lead on all fronts, whether exports or whatever! Do not be a 'frog under a coconut shell'!

[2] I agree we should have a strong domestic economy. Yes, I venture to suggest that the domestic economy should 80:20 when compared with the export economy. That way the domestic economy should cover all fixed costs of manufacturing and exports of the same products overseas can be struck at only 'incremental' costs. But without an export market we will never ever be able to double check and confirm whether we are leaders in world technology and design!

Liang2a "The biggest traitors in China are those who think China con only advance by selling cheap underwear to Americans"

Dear Liang2a,

It seems that your problem is that you don't keep up with new international developments and your views are based on the past. In an article on April 5, a Bloomberg article was entitled "Chinese Export Machine upgraded as Cranes replace Toys" I quote below a few relevant paragraphs:

" China's share of the world抯 low-end exports has started to fall. This reflects a shift by Chinese producers into sectors where margins are higher rather than a failure to compete, U.K.-based Capital Economics said in a March 28 note.

Last year, Chinese-built ships dominated the global market with a 41 percent share, ahead of South Korea (KOEXTOTY) and Japan, according to London-based shipping services company Clarksons. Data from the International Trade Centre, a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, show gains in China抯 global share of the markets for railway locomotives and wagons, machinery, and industrial boilers.

In construction machinery, Sany抯 specialty, three Chinese companies including Sany rank in the top 10 globally. Many of the new exporters are producing from inland China, rather than the coast, the traditional region for manufacturing.

Overall, the portion of China抯 exports made up by heavy industry, about two-thirds of which is machinery, has grown from 29 percent in 2001 to 39 percent last year, surpassing light industry and electronics, according to Beijing-based economics consultants GK Dragonomics.

揟hey are making different products with higher technology, things they can charge more money for, says Andrew Batson, GK Dragonomics research director, who estimates that the new industries can help lift China抯 share of global exports from 10 percent now to 15 percent by 2020. 揟he typical Chinese exporter is not a shoe factory in Guangdong anymore. Instead it is some kind of equipment or machinery maker.

Liang2a, In view of the above, I suggest to you sincerely: Update your facts or else Shut Up!!

Charles,

It is impossible to go for 'higher end' exports without first going through the 'underpants' export stage first. As pointed out by the article, China has been transforming its export mix gradually from 'toys to cranes' in recent years. This is a natural evolution which all countries go through.

I agree with your comments. All countries try their best to export. Obama, for example, proposed that the US should double its exports in five years. In Europe, the German economy has been the best because of its successful export strategy. No country in this globalisation age can afford to neglect exports and concentrate just on internal demand. As far as China is concerned, she is already the 'factory of the world' and it would be difficult to maintain the erstwhile export growth rate of greater than 10% p.a in the future. Clearly China realises this and has been trying to expand domestic consumption in recent years. However, it will take some time before the 80/20 ratio of domestic consumption/ exports could be achieved.

It should be noted that much of China's current exports are machinery, electronic goods and low end goods already constitute a smaller proportion of the export mix. In the next few years I expect Chinese designed electric cars, smart phones etc would start penetrating the international market. Further, unlike Japan, China will be building most of the mega infrastructures of the world in return for resources. As a consequence, the growth rate of developing countries would accelerate and this means increased export opportunies for China to these countries. One should not forget that the world economic pie is getting bigger and bigger even though the developed countries such as US/EU may be fairly static.

China needs to export her three way system to all of Africa, Latin America, Central Asia and Afirca -- The pouring of cement highway, the rail roads and the speed trains -- I can see the entire Chinese system in now the Pearl River Delta can be replicated for the entire island of Cuba -- making the regional cities into commerical centers for resorts and the entire system can be enriching the infrastructure of any given region as in the case of the regions of Brazil in the NOrtheast, and then in and around the Sao Paulo, Rio, Minas region -- with speed trains that can complimentary to the existing road and rail ystem -- This is one of the best system for China to export, along in the use of the other system domestically or to incorporate the system of all ..

China will win big with the logistical and trnsporting system for the entire world -- and this will also be lessening dispute of wars -- totally reverse the focus of the war based economy manipulated and provoked by those unethical bank usury sons of @!#$ in recent history -Thiw the system of Pax Mundi and not Pax America/Judaica

Thanks Paul for your comments. As a result of thirty years of infrastructure construction China now has the most experience in this area. This is the great export window of opportunity to developing countries. Apart from engineering expertise, China could also finance these projects in return for resources.

Contrary to Liang, China's exports could continue to expand by expanding the pie. I just hope that Liang would turn a new leaf, instead of seeing the world from the bottom of the well. He seems to think that his 12 point guidline is eternal but this is not so. The world is changing rapidly and all countries must be proactive or fall by the wayside.

dear observer, often times, we can not be training an old dog any new tricks...:)Due to their ingrained prejudice turned into becoming stubborn and inflexible.. There will always be those to view China or the current regime a failure...There are those of us who dare to look into our past more objectively....to gauge the present.. And To move or venture ahead with more confidence.. China is far from being perfect, nor ther are any more perfect system or regimes.. The American regime noe is standing naked to the world...in her false economy of wars, of bully tactics, manipulated by the @!#$ of usury bankers abd abuses are noe exposed.. Will China be duped again by these same opium Jews or bankers again? I think not.. Not even by the lies and manipulation again. By the same bankers...in the use of new schemers like George Soros and others like him...They need to be exposed..Liang' shallowness had limited his vision....
