日本曝惊天消息:中国歼18试飞,比歼20更先进
2012-04-20 10:09:31.0

Translation:
Japan exposed shocking news: China's J-18 test flight, more advanced than
J-20

Translation:
On the same day, America's "Defense News" confirmed as reliable the news
that China's 4.5th generation (5.5th generation of the Western valuation
system) heavy fighter J-18 "Red Eagle" of the Shenyang Aircraft Factory
has been put into production. Following the confirmation of this news,
American Air Force Simulation Center called an emergency meeting to implement an aerial battle simulation code named ("Operation Eagle Capture").

Translation:
But the result of the aerial combat astounded Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Lockheed Martin Corp.: F-22 lost badly to J-18 by 3:1!

This is the second time America's darling F-22 Raptor lost to a fighter
of another country in a simulated aerial battle. Also "Operation Eagle
Capture" exposed serious hidden problems of the F-22.
===================================

One of the most important component in conventional war is the fighters. The fighters can determine the domination of the entire theater. The infantry depend on the tanks for protection. The tanks depend on the helicopters for protection. The helicopters depend on the fighters for protection. Therefore, whoever controls the highest level sky can dominate the ground. For some years the American fighters had dominated the battle theatre and determined the outcome of the war. Espeicially, the F-22 have been the undisputed controllers of the sky. But obviously the days of the Raptors are now over. The Chinese have shocked the world with the introduction of J-20 which has been ranked the same as the F-22. Now China's newest generation fighter in the form of J-18 has been revealed to have gone into production (下线). If this news is true then it can be expected that China will be producing these advanced 5.5 generation J-18 in large numbers soon. (Maybe even hundreds in the next few years!)

The J-18 is said to be able to take off and land vertically and have combat radius of 2,000 km and weighs 12,430 kg. The most important feature is that it is stealthy, probably as stealthy as F-35 if not more so. It is said that J-18 will be based on China's indigenous carriers. The Chinese are ranking the J-18 as superior to the J-20. I'm not sure if this is true. But the J-18 probably has more advanced avionics and radars and other essential features as well as being more stealthy than the J-20. But J-20 probably has more missiles and can go farther. So the two probably complement each other in different roles with the J-20 more for ground attack while the J-18 will be more for aerial combat.

So with these two superior fighters and hopefully with superior jet engines of indigenous IPR, China will be able to make hundreds of these superior stealthy fighters to dominate the skies in a few years.
