You might be surprised that there are lots of educated Christians out there who have PhDs and practise Zen Buddhism; people who believe in Christian spirituality without having to accept that the Bible are God's actual words, literally, or believe in the Biblical myths, the supernatural, the virgin birth, the bodily resurrection or that Christ died to redeem our 'sins' or that there is 'sin' as is commonly understood that will send you to hell or even that there is heaven or hell or that Jews are the chosen race or the exodus from Egypt or Noah's Ark or the Great Flood of Noah or that there is only a Christian God or any God or the need for blind faith and devotion, church buildings or rituals or to be good as monks or nuns or saints; and who believe in stem cells and evolution and any science that is proven, and the Big Bang and the Black Hole and that whatever is in God or Jesus are also in us in a different being or spiritual sense; and that if there was a Satan, that he will also be in us; and that heaven or hell if they exist are just experiential states of being; so even Satan will go to heaven and back; that God or Satan is without and within any existence of being. True repose of rest and bliss is when there is no experience of existence or of no existence of being since there is no consciousness of self or 'ego'. If God exists he is best portrayed as a universal Spirit Father to all his spirit sons, whatever their being or existence, good or bad, purple or green or other modes that they are entrapped in.
