Is Kevin Rudd's resignation as Foreign Minister of Australia a sad affair? I believe when he was the Prime Minister, he had offended many of his colleagues, and he is now paying for it.

Australian foreign minister Kevin Rudd has resigned - blaming a lack of support from the country's prime minister Julia Gillard.
The departure comes after weeks of speculation that Mr Rudd was planning to challenge Ms Gillard for the leadership of the country's Labor government.
He announced his resignation during an early morning news conference in Washington, where he is visiting on official business.
Ms Gillard ousted Rudd as prime minister 2010 after an internal coup within her Labor Party. She became only the third prime minister since the Second World War to gain power in this way.
"The simple truth is that I cannot continue to serve as foreign minister if I don't have Prime Minister Gillard's support," Mr Rudd told the press conference.
"I therefore believe the only honourable course of action is for me to resign."
His daughter Jessica immediately tweeted: "Effing proud of you, Dad xxxx". His wife Therese Rein responded: "Me too, Kevin xxxx".
