Our music teacher 李晶潔 was teaching us how to sing Mandarin songs through
Radio Malaya stationed in Singapore during the Emergency ( 1948 to 1960
- A war between the British Colonial Authorities and the Malayan Communist
Party), when villagers through out Malaya were shut up in their houses,
under the curfew hours from 7.pm to 6.am the next day. This was one of the
songs. She was a very beautiful girl at that time and her complexion was
very fair as white as a white piece of paper. All the villagers loved her
including me. She recorded her lessons and taught us to sing. I can't remember
how many lessons a week usually 9.pm to 9.30.pm. The British Authorities
set up this program to give us, the villagers, a sort of entertainment through
radio.
Unfortunately, I could only remembered this song that I downloaded.
