A Farewell To Secretary Shuyun
At The XietiaoVilla In XuanZhou

棄我去者,---Qi4 wo3 qu4 zhe3,
昨日之日不可留;---Zuo2 ri4 zhi ri4 bu4 ke3 liu2;
亂我心者,---Luan4 wo3 xin zhe3,
今日之日多煩憂.---Jin ri4 zhi ri4 duo fan2 you.

長風萬里送秋雁,---Chang2 feng wan4 li3 song4 qiu yan4,
對此可以酣高樓.---Dui4 ci3 ke3 yi3 han gao lou2.
蓬萊文章建安骨,---Penglai(*D4) wen2 zhang Jianan(*E5) gu,
中間小謝又清發.---Zhong jian Xiao3 Xie(*F6) you4 qing fa.
俱懷逸興壯思飛,---Ju4 huai2 yi4 xing zhuang4 si fei,

拋棄了而去的﹐是昨天的日子﹐不能把他挽留﹐
I was being forsaken yesterday, that was yesterday and it had gone and I
cannot help it.
擾亂我心緒的﹐是今天的日子﹐使我增添些煩憂﹗
Today, I am being hurt and it disturbs me more.

萬里的長風﹐送著秋天的鴻雁﹐我們對著這種情景﹐正可以在高樓上暢飲啊﹗
Thousands of miles of long wind are accompanying these autumn geese which
is the scene that we see while we are drinking wine in this tall building.

叔雲先生是一位學問深博的人﹐在寫作方面﹐等於蓬萊宮裏的文章﹐並且又具著漢
朝時代建安體的風骨﹐而在前後的中間﹐又有一個才思清麗的謝惠連﹐他的才思﹐
又清朗﹐有開發﹐
Mr Shu Yun is an erudite scholar and his essays are as good as those in
the Penglai Palace. His literary works are in the style of the Jianan Emperor
era of the Han Dynasty similar to Xie Huilian with clear resounding.

都存著飄逸的興致和豪放的思想﹐一齊沖飛起來﹐要想飛到青天上去觀看明月。
Mr Shu Yun and I are both having the aspiration of distant thought as if
we are flying up to the sky to see the moon.

現在我要和叔雲先生分別了﹐心中真有無限的惆悵﹐但這惆悵是沒法可以解決的﹐
好必抽出刀來把水砍斷﹐然而水仍舊不斷的流著。
Now I am going to be separated from you and we are disconsolate. We cannot
resolve this separation that is like using a knife to cut off the water
which will still continue to flow.

舉起酒杯來痛飲﹐要想消除憂愁﹐可是這憂愁的心更家會憂愁起來。
Lifting up our cups we drink to dispel our sadness, but it saddens us more.

所以我覺得人生在世﹐總是不能稱心如意的﹐倒不如明天披散了頭髮﹐坐了一隻小
船﹐在江湖中自由自在地遊玩罷。
Therefore I feel that life in this world is not what you want to be and
tomorrow I will loosen my hair and get into a little boat and set sail in
the lake leisurely and carefree sight-seeing.

地名﹐即今安徽省宣城縣

(*B2) 謝朓 Xie Tiao
南北朝時南齊陽夏人。字法暉。文章清麗﹐長於五言詩。
增為宣城太守。

(*C3) 校書 Xiao Shu
官名。任校勘書籍

(*D4) 蓬萊 Penglai
海中神山﹐仙府幽經秘錄﹐都在這裏

(*E5) 建安 Jianan
漢獻帝年號。其時孔融王粲陳琳諸人。
所作的詩﹐就稱做建安體。

(*F6) 小謝 Xiao Xie
稱謝惠連﹐才思富捷。

(*G7) 扁舟 Bian Zhou
即小舟。
