唐朝詩 Poems from Tang Dynasty (618AD to 907AD)

A Tang poem by 朱放 (Zhu Fang) an official whose 生卒均不詳﹐but he was
alive before 773AD

題竹林寺 [*1A] (The topic of a temple in a bamboo grove)

歲月人間促,---Sui4 yue4 ren2 jian cu4 [*2B],
煙霧此地多;---Yan wu4 ci3 di4 duo;
殷勤竹林寺,---Yin qin2 [*3C] Zhu Lin Si,
更得幾回過.---Geng de2 ji hui2 guo4

The explanations in plain Chinese and English.

(1) 一年十二個月, 在人間過去, 是非常短促的,
In a man's world, one year is quite short,
(2) 祇有那天上的煙霧, 這裏是最多.
Here, there are lots of smoke and mist in the sky.
(3) 所以留戀著此地的竹林寺,
Therefore, I am reluctant to leave the temple in the bamboo grove,
(4) 祇願人生在世, 能夠多到這裏來幾次.
While I am still alive I wish to come here more often.

Notes:
[*1A] 竹林寺 Zhu Lin Si
This is a temple built in a bamboo grove in Mount Lushan (廬山) in the county
of Jiujiang (九江縣) of Jiangxi province (江西省).

(竹林寺是為了紀念我國第一個女出家人淨檢法師而建。建成后的竹林寺將再現千年
古剎竹林寺深幽清淨的意境。全寺由南北山門，主院，西側院及佛..)

[*2B] 促cu4 means (of time) short.

[*3C] 殷勤 yin qin2 means eagerly attentive,
but in this case the meaning is reluctant to leave (a place).

言歲月易度﹐幽賞難期﹐此地煙霞名盛之區﹐人跡罕到﹐
故吾在此殷勤眷戀而不忍去﹐自此之後﹐能有幾回再到也。
