OLD CHINESE MAP OF THE WORLD FROM 2200 BC

Hendon M. Harris believed that the Chinese had a geography and map of the world since 2200 BC and that they have reached and settled in the Americas before that date (since 2640 BC). The Americas were referred to as Fu Sang, and according to this theory, the native Indians of the Americas are descended from these early Chinese.
If Zheng He and his captains circumnavigated the globe, they must have had access to these ancient maps.

There are plenty of similarities between MesoAmerican cultures and Chinese Shang culture. This was discussed several years ago at the "China the Beautiful" discussion group.

Olmec writing has many characters recognizable as Chinese script. Their writing is from top to bottom as in Chinese.

Mayans has the same legend of rabbit in the moon as the ancient Chinese legend.

The use of jade death mask and mouthpiece in burial is a common practice to Mayans and Chinese.

Many native geographic names in western America have Chinese pronunciation - Lake Taho, River Ho.

It is a recognized fact (National Geographic Society) that Asians came to America by land and sea routes in several major migrations, prior to written history.

The earliest relic of Chinese culture in America after written history is the Ming dynasty medallion.

I took another look at the Olmec writing and was shocked to find that the stylised writing look so much like the word in a Hongkong tabloid. The characters are squarish and the stroke inside each characrter are rounded up and seemed to be superimposed one on top of the other with only the border of each stroke showing.

This new script of the tabloid is just one of many new ways of printing the Chinese characters. It is unconventional and beautiful in a stylised design.

Tom Dragon,

Sorry for not responding sooner. I shall try to offload some digital material on Olmec writing later, but here is some interesting snipet. Archaelogists claimed that the Olmec had discovered the properties of the lodestone and may have had the compass even before the Chinese, that is, if you take the dating of the earliest Chinese compass up to date to be actually the earliest Chinese compass.

It is possible that the earliest dated Chinese compass may be the latter versions. It is possible that the original version of the Chinese compass has yet to be found. That perhaps the Chinese had the use of the lodestone much earlier than the dated compass and had actually took this with them when they migrated to Central America. The Olmec also had jade carving of the fish, a typical Chinese artistic expression.

The above data was taken off the Wikipedia website.

There are two groups of Mesoamerican writing systems. The Southeastern Group, made up of Maya and Epi-Olmec scripts is writen in glyphs from top to bottom. Each unit (word?) is squarish. The Maya "word" for 'hill' and 'moon' bear distinct similarity to the Chinese characters for the two depiction. For further reading, go to:

I must be honest enough to make some retractions. There is simply no basis for making comparison between the Olmec writing and the printed Chinese character in Hongkong tabloid. I was rashed because of my unfounded enthusiasm. Sorry.

Next the similarity between the Mayan heiroglyph for 'moon' (when turned upside down) and the Chinese character could be simply coincidental as both were picto-gram. This is no proof of any linkage between the two.
