....In 1932 Chiang Kai-shek launched the fourth campaign against the
Ruijin (瑞金) Soviet Republic Government. The campaign dragged on for nine months. Eventually, Chiang Kai-shek's army was defeated. Mao Zedong (毛澤東)
used guerrilla tactic and Sun Zi (孫子)'s "The Art of War" to defeat Chiang Kai-shek.
A German, Otto Braun alias Li De (李德), was the head of the Military Commisiion
in the Ruijin Soviet Government. Otto Braun was against Mao Zedong's guerrilla tactic which was followed by Luo Ming (羅明), a military commander. Mao Zedong was ill with malaria. So the Military Commission criticized Luo Ming as the "flightist", and the "opportunist- liquidationist" that was they criticized Mao Zedong indirectly.Mao Zedong lost his influence in the Red Army. Mao Zedong regained his power during the Long March at the Zun Yi (遵義) conference in Guizhou province
