In Malaysia, Astro, the pay satellite TV, has a channel 304 (Jiayu) that airs documentaries from China from Guangzhou. One series that intrigues me is the Hakka story which is a 20 minute documentary. I often miss it as I have to give in to other family members for other channels. Another problem is the Hakka dialect seems to be the Longhua dialect which I find difficult to comprehend with my limited Meixian Hakka. I wonder if it has been fansubbed and uploaded at some sites. If not I hope some one literate in both Chinese and English can communicate with the producers and produce the 100 odd episodes into DVDs with (good) English subtitles. Just hoping and praying that this will happen soon and do all the English-speaking Hakkas a good deed!
