Dear Forum readers:
ZhenFu Lou (now a Museum) has displays that may show a connection between Hakka tulous (~770-1979 AD) and the Banpo people (~4,000 BC). If one studies the Banpo Museum site in Xi'an, and Hakka villages of YongDing and Mei'Xian, one can see the possible beginnings of Hakka (and Chinese) architecture, with village planning, earth integated structures, communal buildings, the use of sustainable resources (earth (mud), wood, and grasses), circular and square buildings, nearby water (i.e. moat), south facing homes (for passive solar heating, and Feng Shui?). This site also shows the early beginnings of Chinese numbers, script and engineering (automatic filling bottle).
If you have any thoughts about the evolution of Hakka architecture, or any information on ZhenFu Lou itself, please let me know.
Thank you for considering my request.
