When I went back to my ancestral village Che Pi, 11 km from Meizhou city, I was shown a thick volume of the zupu (genealogical records) printed in Taiwan. It seems there are 4 volumes of the Zou ancestry. I salute those involved in the production of this important document. There are suggestions to reproduce these zupu as these are incomplete covering only up to the 18 generation (I think). I have indicated to them that it is a noble cause and hope it can be completed so that it can be sold at a nominal price to those who come to the citang during the Chinese New Year period (Spring Festival).
In this IT age I have suggested it to be made a DVD version so that all 4 volumes can be integrated and the latest data added. I am now trying to add my relatives of my generation and my family's/children's names into the zupu. Can anyone from Taiwan communicate with me as to how to get copies of these zupus? I will go back to Che PI next year to help kick start the project.
